Spirit Of The West will be inducted into the Western Canadian Music Awards Hall Of Fame, while The Weakerthans, The Evaporators, Immaculate Machine, Carolyn Mark and Corb Lund will be among those vying for prizes at the sixth annual event.
Edmonton will host this year's Oct. 16 to 19 festivities, which will include a music festival, a music industry conference and industry awards show, and the closing awards gala. Winners of the artistic honours will be chosen through online voting by the public. All of the eligible nominees are from the Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
