After they independently released their
Matterhorn debut full-length last year, Vancouver's
The Clips are set to re-release it through Unfamiliar Records.
Matterhorn will be digitally released on Tuesday and physical copies will hit stores on Aug. 8. The Clips spent a year recording the album at a former bandmate's backyard garden shed studio and then spent many more months mixing it in the same shed. "Space Kidz" is the first single, and you can hear it and three other tracks on The Clips'
MySpace page.
Edo Van Breemen (vocals, keyboards), Jeremy Gruman (drums, violin), Michael Jones (guitar), Andrew Seeton (bass) and James Steidle (synthesizers, digital effects) played Calgary's Sled Island Festival last month, and have opened for Holy Fuck and Metric. They'll play Vancouver's Sweatshop with Edmonton's Faunts on Aug. 1.
