Jenny Lewis' Acid Tongue

One would hardly think that soft-spoken Rilo Kiley frontwoman and former child actress Jenny Lewis has an acid tongue, but that's exactly what she's titled her sophomore solo album that's due for release in September through Warner Bros.

Lewis recorded the 11-track disc over three weeks at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, Calif. It features guest appearances from M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel (better known collectively as She & Him), Elvis Costello, The Black Crowes' Chris Robinson and A Perfect Circle's Paz Lechantin. Lewis' sister Leslie and her father Eddie Gordon also make appearances on Acid Tongue, as does her boyfriend, singer/songwriter Johnathan Rice.

Lewis formed Rilo Kiley in 1998 with fellow former child actor Blake Sennett (3rd Rock From The Sun, The Wonder Years). The band have since released four albums and an EP. Lewis collaborated with The Watson Twins on 2006's Rabbit Fur Coat.
