Kanye West Loves Caps Lock, But Hates Bonnaroo Organizers And Jeerers

 Kanye West

Kanye West has responded to those who screamed "Kanye sucks," spray-painted "Fuck Kanye" on port-a-potties and threw things at the stage before, during and after his set at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.

West was originally scheduled to perform at 8:45 p.m. on June 14 at the Manchester, Tenn. festival. He asked organizers to move the time slot to around 3 a.m. so it could be dark enough for his performance, for which he had brought his Glow In The Dark tour set-up. West was assigned a 2:45 a.m. time slot, but didn't take the stage until 4:25 a.m. At that point, fans were angry and had started throwing things and making signs with negative messages directed at the rapper. This offended West so much that he blogged about it, largely in CAPS LOCK.

"I am sick of negative people who just sit around trying 2 plot my downfall…Why???? I understand if people don't like me because I like me or if people think tight clothes look gay or people say I run my mouth to much, But this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life. This is the most offended I've ever been… this is the maddest I will ever be. I'm typing so fucking hard I might break my fucking Mac book Air!!!!!!!! Call me any name you want…. arrogant, conceited, narcissistic, racist, metro, fag whatever you can think of…. BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL! NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL!"

West explained that there had been problems with the Bonnaroo organizers regarding fitting his Glow In The Dark set-up on stage.

"FOR OVER A MONTH WE WENT BACK AND FORTH ON WETHER OR NOT WE COULD EVEN FIT MY STAGE AT THE FESTIVAL. ONE DAY THEY WOULD SAY YES... WE'D SEND THEM OUR SPECS THEN THEY THEY'D SAY OK... THEN THEY WOULD SEND SPECS BACK THAT DIDN'T FIT THE STAGE. WE WERE OBVIOUSLY DEALING WITH FUCKING IDIOTS WHO DIDN'T REALLY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO REALLY PUT ON THIS SHOW PROPERLY."

Bonnaroo organizers released a statement on Wednesday afternoon refuting West's statements.

"Over seven years of presenting the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, we have successfully presented hundreds of the top artists in the world," the statement read. "Our world-class-event production team strives to accommodate the needs of every performer. We will continue to present the highest level of production while representing the best interests of our audience, staff and performers."

West said his stage manager tried to load his stage set-up 24 hours before he went on, but festival organizers wouldn't let them do anything until Pearl Jam, who were scheduled to perform before West, left. West said things still weren't ready by 4:20 a.m. and, at that point, he says his crew told him it would take 45 more minutes to prepare all of his pyrotechnics. West said to forget it because he had to get on stage right away, according to his post.

"I HIT THE STAGE AND PEOPLE HAD BEEN THROWING SHIT ON THE STAGE AND HAD ACTUALLY HIT THE JANE SCREEN WITH, I GUESS BOTTLES OR SOMETHING AND HAD BROKEN MY FUCKING SCREEN. REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE A SHORTY AND WATER WOULD HIT THE TV?????? WHEN I GOT 2 'THROUGH THE WIRE' I STEPPED ON THE FRONT PART OF MY STAGE AND THERE WAS SO MUCH LIQUID ON THE STAGE I COULDN'T MOVE WITHOUT SLIPPING."

West goes on to write that he had to cut a few songs from his set because of this, which disappointed him.

"I'M SORRY TO EVERYONE THAT I DIDN'T HAVE THE ABILITY 2 GIVE THE PERFORMANCE I WANTED TO. I'M SORRY... CALL ME WHAT YOU WANT BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL!!!"
