Grand Bend, Ont. is known for its beach, its Motorplex and the nearby Pinery Provincial Park. But aside from cover bands and karaoke at Gables, it's not really known for bringin' the rock. That will change when the Cutting Edge Music Festival hits the city.

The punk- and hardcore-centric festival features a lineup that includes Alexisonfire, Arkells, IllScarlett, Staylefish, Poison The Well, The Flatliners and The Johnstones. It takes place from Aug. 1 to 4 at the Grand Bend Motorplex, but the musical entertainment will happen on Aug. 2 and 3 over two stages hosted by DJs from Toronto's 102.1 The Edge radio station. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster and record stores throughout southern Ontario. Four-day weekend passes, which include camping privileges, are $112 in advance or $150 on site. VIP packages that get you express entry line privileges, access to a VIP-preferred viewing area and a camping pass cost $225. One- and two-day passes are also available. More information is available on the Cutting Edge Music Festival's website.
