Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer" Sets Download Record

 Finger Eleven

Have you ever (legally) downloaded Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer"? If so, you've helped make it Canada's most downloaded track by a Canadian band or artist.

According to Nielsen SoundScan RTD Digital Track Chart, more than 100,000 digital downloads of "Paralyzer" have been sold since SoundScan began tracking these things in 2005. This makes "Paralyzer" the eighth most downloaded track overall. Americans have also downloaded the song more than 2.2 million times, which makes it the 19th best-selling download of all time.

"To have been told of this amazing news, it completely overwhelms me and the rest of the band," says Finger Eleven drummer Rich Beddoe. "When we wrote this song, we never could have imagined how far it would take the band and just how many people would react to it. We are honoured to be just a little part of musical history."

A few months ago, "Paralyzer" broke the record for the most weeks spent at the top of the Canadian rock radio chart. It spent 14 weeks at #1, breaking a record previously held by Nickelback.

Finger Eleven have partnered with Animoto to give fans the opportunity to create their own videos for "Paralyzer," "I'll Keep Your Memory Vague," "Talking To The Walls," "One Thing" and "Falling On." If you upload photos here, Animoto will create a personalized video of the track that you can share through social networking sites like Facebook, YouTube and email.

Finger Eleven will soon head out on a brief U.S. tour with Seether, after which they'll play some North American summer dates on their own. Here are their Canadian shows:
