HMV Opens Store Of The Future

Matthew Barber, IllScarlett, Billy Bragg, Sam Roberts Band, Zaki Ibrahim, The Coast and The Stills will all play free sets at the unveiling of a newly designed HMV Toronto location on June 17.

The revamped 50 Bloor St. W. location will re-open that day in conjunction with HMV Canada's 20th anniversary. The events begin at 8 a.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a breakfast. Thereafter, the day will be filled with musical performances, a draw to win $5,000 and other giveaways and contests.

The new store features 548 square metres of retail space with an interactive hub of six iMac computers where shoppers can access entertainment and social networking sites. There will also be gaming stations and more interactive opportunities.
