Sigur Ros Get Naked

Sigur Ros

You could hardly call Sigur Ros' classically influenced post-rock sound "stripped down." But when their new Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust album hits stores on June 24 through XL, its cover will showcase nudity of a different kind.

The artwork features a photo of four naked men streaking across a highway. Its title is Icelandic for With A Buzz In Our Ears We Play Endlessly. The disc was co-produced by Sigur Ros and Flood (PJ Harvey, The Killers). With A Buzz was recorded at New York City's Sear Sound Studios, London, England's Abbey Road Studios, a house in the band's hometown of Reykjavik, Iceland and a Havana, Cuba studio. You can download "Gobbledigook" for free from Sigur Ros' website, where you can also pre-order the album and get a downloadable version a week before it's released. The site will stream With A Buzz in entirety starting on June 9.

With A Buzz features a 70-piece orchestra and boys choir on "Ara Batur." Icelandic string quartet and former Sigur Ros tourmates Amiina also appear along with a five-piece brass section.

Although this is the band's fifth album, "All Alright" is their first song sung in English.

After the group filmed acoustic tracks for last year's Heima DVD, Sigur Ros were inspired to record a looser, more fluid album. Rather than releasing a glossy, perfectly produced record, Sigur Ros have opted to leave their mistakes and idiosyncrasies in so listeners can hear them.

Here are the tracks on Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Splium Endalaust:
