Burning Brides Cure Anhedonia With New Album

Burning Brides will continue to go the independent route with their fourth full-length album, Anhedonia, which they'll release on June 10.

The Anhedonia CD has 13 songs, while the vinyl version will include two extra tracks. You can preview "If One Of Us Goes Further" on Burning Brides' MySpace page.

The Los Angeles-based trio consists of singer/guitarist Dimitri Coats, his burning, bass-playing bride Melanie and best friend Pete Beeman, whose drumming fills out the band's dark, melodic heavy rock sound.

Just as with last year's Hang Love, Burning Brides had full artistic control of the new album, which they financed and produced themselves in three weeks. While 'anhedonia' is a clinical word used to describe an inability to experience pleasure, that's never been a problem for the Brides' loyal followers since Coats and his then-girlfriend formed the band in Philadelphia in 1999. Mike Ambs was the drummer for 2000's Fall Of The Plastic Empire debut and 2002's Leave No Ashes (which were both released by V2), before he made way for Beeman.

The Burning Brides will play Toronto's Bovine Sex Club on June 22.
