The Offspring Rise And Fall

The Offspring

The Offspring will release their long-awaited eighth album on June 17 via Columbia Records.

Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace is the first Offspring record since 2003's Splinter. In April 2003, the band jokingly said they would call the record Chinese Democracy (You Snooze, You Lose), poking fun at Guns N' Roses' perpetually delayed "upcoming" new album. Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace was produced by Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue) and recorded in Hawaii and California. It will be released in CD and digital formats, but if you buy the gatefold vinyl edition, you'll be able to download the album for free. You can also download lead single "Hammerhead" for free from The Offspring's website.

Singer/guitarist Dexter Holland first announced The Offspring were working on a new album in 2004. The band began recording Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace with Rock in 2006. The process was delayed when drummer Atom Willard left the band in 2007 to focus on his work with Angels And Airwaves. Nine Inch Nails drummer Josh Freese stepped in to help record the album, and former Face To Face and Saves The Day member Pete Parada now handles the duties behind the kit.
