The Kooks, The Fratellis And Against Me! Among Those Added To Toronto Virgin Festival

You can no longer call the Toronto edition of the Virgin Festival "Brit-centric." Although English and Scottish acts The Kooks, The Fratellis and Sons And Daughters have been added to the festival, the addition of hometown heroes Danko Jones, American bands Against Me!, Shudder To Think, Silversun Pickups and The Airborne Toxic Event and Swedish popster Robyn means the event is no longer dominated by U.K. artists.
The new additions join a lineup that previously included headliners Foo Fighters and Oasis along with Constantines, The Weakerthans, Wintersleep, Spiritualized, Paul Weller and others. More acts will be announced soon.
The Toronto Virgin Festival will be held at Toronto Island Park on Sept. 6 and 7. Tickets are on sale now at futureshop.ca, participating Future Shop locations and ticketmaster.ca. A two-day pass will run you $159, while single day tickets are $87.
