Constantines Finally Overtake Crystal Castles

After seven weeks of Crystal Castles ruling the chart roost, Constantines have ascended to the summit of the top 50 chart with Kensington Heights. Reversing their order from last week, the Cons sit at #1 while Crystal Castles’ self-titled album drops to #2.
The Black Keys’ Attack & Release stays at #3, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds’ Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! rises a spot to #4 and is followed by a resurgent Plants And Animals’ Parc Avenue, which climbs four places to #5. Tokyo Police Club’s Elephant Shell holds steady at #6. Last week’s #4 album, Duchess Says’ Anthologie Des 3 Perchoirs, drops three spots to #7. Flight Of The Conchords’ eponymous album moves up 21 spots to #8 while Islands’ Arm's Way shoots up 34 positions to #9. Man Man’s Rabbit Habits drops two positions to round out the top 10.
HILOTRONS’ Happymatic moves back up 24 places to #11 after sitting at #8 two weeks ago. The Wet Secrets’ Rock Fantasy rises 27 spots to #13.
The Chart Sizzler Award goes to No Age’s Nouns, which debuts at #15. The runner-up for the CSA is M83’s Saturdays=Youth at #20, followed by Frightened Rabbi’s The Midnight Organ Fight at #23, Pattern Is Movement’s All Together at #30 and Portishead’s Third at #33.
Three of the five specialty charts have new #1s compared to last week, though one is a return of a longtime former #1. Pacifika’s Asuncion rises from #3 to top the World/Folk chart, while Testament’s The Formation Of Damnation rises a spot to #1 on Metal/Punk. Cadence Weapon’s Afterparty Babies returns to #1 on the Hip-Hop chart after a week’s absence, giving it a total of 10 weeks at #1. Crystal Castles’ debut album and Brad Mehldau Trio’s Live remain atop the Electronic and Jazz/Blues charts respectively.
