My Bloody Valentine To Headline And Curate All Tomorrow's Parties In New York

My Bloody Valentine

My Bloody Valentine will perform in North America for the first time in 16 years when they curate and headline September's All Tomorrow's Parties festival in New York.

The recently reformed Anglo-Irish shoegazers are among those already confirmed to play the three-day festival, which will be held from Sept. 19 to 21 in the Catskills Mountains at Kutsher's Country Club in Monticello. Four of the 30 acts will perform one of their albums in its entirety: Meat Puppets with Meat Puppets II; Tortoise with Millions Now Living Will Never Die; Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore with Psychic Hearts; and Built To Spill with Perfect From Now On. Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra And Tra-La-La Band, Fuck Buttons, Low, Mogwai and The Drones have also been confirmed, while more acts will be announced in the next few weeks.

Tickets go on sale Friday through the All Tomorrow's Parties website and will cost $225 U.S. plus a booking fee for the three-day event. Single-day passes aren't available. Limited accommodation will be provided on site for an additional fee, and shuttle buses will provide transportation to a nearby hotel.

My Bloody Valentine haven't performed in North America since their July 5, 1992 appearance at Los Angeles' Palace Theatre. But the influential band are expected to play six to eight other North America dates in addition to ATP.

ATP was originally an annual British festival, but came to North America in 2003 when it was curated by Simpsons creator Matt Groening. ATP selects the curators, who headline the bill and invite other artists to play.
