Moody Motorcycle Rides Along Human Highway

Moody Motorcycle will be the title of the debut album from Jim Guthrie and Nick Thorburn's collaborative project, Human Highway.
Montreal's Secret City Records will release the album in Canada on Aug. 19. It will be simultaneously issued by the Seattle-based Suicide Squeeze label in the U.S.
Guthrie — best known for his releases on Three Gut Records with Royal City, his solo material and that "Hand In My Pocket" jingle you're always hearing in television commercials — previously worked with Thorburn in Islands. Guthrie says the origin of Human Highway was in a hotel room during an Islands tour when Thorburn asked for his help on a song called "My Beach."
"I think this album works because Nick and I both share a love for oldies," says Guthrie, who cites the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison and The Kinks as influences on Human Highway's sound. "It's AM radio rock for the babies of the future past."
Plans for a video and performances are in the works.
