Jamie Lidell Channels Diverse Influences On New Album

Jamie Lidell

Britain's Jamie Lidell will ship his diverse sound overseas on April 29 via Warp Records' release of his fourth album, Jim.

The follow-up to Multiply Additions (which featured live recordings and remixes of songs from 2005's Multiply) was self-produced with help from Mocky, Justin Stanley and Gonzales. It was recorded in Berlin, Los Angeles and Paris.

There's a definite soul flavour on first single "Little Bit Of Feel Good," which can be heard along with the rest of the album on Lidell's MySpace page. Other songs include pop, R&B, funk and disco elements.

"I haven't tried to hide the influences," says Lidell. "This is the music I love."

You can catch Lidell's Canadian performances here:

May 25 Vancouver, BC @ Richard's On Richards
June 5 Toronto, ON @ The Opera House
June 6 Ottawa, ON @ Babylon
