Are you itching to fill Scott Weiland's shoes after his recent departure from Velvet Revolver and take his place next to former members of Guns 'N Roses and Wasted Youth? If so, you'll get your chance in the next few months when the band hold an online audition for their next singer.

Velvet Revolver are still singer-less after Weiland was fired on April 1 (which, despite the date, wasn't a joke), but they're looking to replace him through the internet.

"The band is actually talking about building a Web site [and] doing some auditions via that, so that's been something that's developing at this point," guitarist Slash told Billboard.com.

Slash said the search should begin within the next "month or so" and that an upcoming Velvet Revolver gig in Las Vegas would feature some of the band's friends trading vocal duties.

"I'm not gonna name any names, but a bunch of well-known people will get up and sing some songs, and then also bring up a couple people that we think are pretty good and might sing a couple songs."

The feud between Weiland and Velvet Revolver continues. Slash recently told U.K. rock mag Kerrang! that he ignored Weiland on the road because his behaviour reminded him of former Guns 'N Roses bandmate Axl Rose.

"What became really irritating was that I had the same problem with Scott as I had when I toured with Axl. I just couldn't get the guy on stage on time. That, I can't accept. I will not do it again. I will not be in a situation where a guy is making the audience wait for an hour, or more. It's criminal. I don't know who he thinks he is when he tried to get away with that sort of thing."

Weiland has reunited with his former Stone Temple Pilots bandmates to record their first new album since 2001's Shangri-La Dee Da. They've also announced a tour that includes these Canadian dates:

June 21 Calgary, AB @ Fort Calgary (Virgin Festival)
July 10 Quebec City, QC @ Quebec City International Festival
July 15 Toronto, ON Downsview Park (Edgefest 2008)
Aug. 30 Vancouver, BC @ General Motors Place
