Celebrate With Kelp Records For A Good Cause

HILOTRONS

Kelp Records is celebrating 14 years of putting out independent music from Ottawa area artists, and they want you enjoy the company of a few of their bands.

Kelp will stage three concerts on April 25 and 26 to showcase the best the label has to offer, including critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Andy Swan and one of the biggest buzz bands in Ontario right now, HILOTRONS.

Individual show tickets are $10 and weekend passes for all three are $20. They can be purchased at End Hits, Sounds Unlikely, Compact Music, kelprecords.com (which features a nifty photo of former baseball star Pete Rose on the home page) and ticketweb.ca.

The Kelp anniversary CD can be purchased at the shows for five bucks. All of the proceeds will go to The Distress Centre, which provides a telephone hotline to help Ottawa residents in crisis. Attendees are also asked to donate unwanted CDs, which will be sold to raise more money for The Distress Centre.

Here are the concert lineups:

April 25 @ Elmdale House w/HILOTRONS, Rhume, Flecton, Andy Swan and Culture Reject (8 p.m.)
April 26 @ Carleton Tavern w/Jim Bryson, Micarza Camaro, Chris Page and Catriona Sturton (1 p.m.)
April 26 @ Gluepot Pub w/Camp Radio, The Michael Parks, The Flaps and The Empiricals (9 p.m.)
