Elbow Pay Tribute To The Seldom Seen Kid

Manchester, England's Elbow will release The Seldom Seen Kid in North America on April 22.

The 11-track follow-up to 2005's Leaders Of The Free World was produced by Elbow keyboardist Craig Potterin the band's space at Salford's Blueprint Studios. The Seldom Seen Kid is Elbow's fourth studio album, but first for Fiction/Geffen. It was released in the U.K. on March 17 and is dedicated to Bryan Glancy, a Manchester songwriter who died in 2006. "The Fix," featuring Richard Hawley singing with Garvey, is the first duet to appear on an Elbow album. You can hear previews from the record here.

Elbow are composed of Potter, frontman and lyricist Guy Garvey, drummer Richard Jupp, guitarist Mark Potter and bassist Pete Turner. They met at school, formed in 1991 and were originally called Mr. Soft before changing their name to Elbow in 1997.

Elbow will play Vancouver's St. Andrew's Wesley Church on May 6.
