Green Day's Foxboro Hot Tubs Project Put More Songs Online

Green Day

Foxboro Hot Tubs, the recently admitted alter-ego of Green Day, have made six new tracks available for download on their website. The songs are from their Stop Drop And Roll debut that's slated for a May 13 release through Jingle Town Records.

The band, who hid their identity until they sent an email to MTV on April 9 where they let the truth out, previously posted six songs for free download in December, but removed them before the month was up. Those songs are now referred to as Stop Drop And Roll's A-side, while the new ones comprise side B.

While called a Green Day side-project, Foxboro Hot Tubs have two additional band members: Jason White and Jason Freese. White has been Green Day's touring guitarist since 2000's Warning, and Freese aided the trio with piano, saxophone, accordion and other instruments while recording American Idiot.

There's a plan to tour as Foxboro Hot Tubs, which leaves Green Day fans waiting for word when a proper follow-up to the Grammy Award-winning American Idiot will arrive.

The Hot Tubs' songs share a Green Day guitar signature with distortion and tone, but their choruses are filled with "ba da das" and a distinct old-groove '60s feel. The '60s theme is heightened by the album's cover art, which shows five women doing vintage dances.
