Radiohead Launch Social Networking Site While EMI Finalizes Best-Of

Radiohead's latest new media venture, a social networking site called W.A.S.T.E. Central, blasted onto the internet on Thursday.
Fans can join the site and create their own profiles, add friends, write their own blog entries, comment on other members' blog posts and upload their own photos and videos. You can also add Radiohead members as friends. Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood and Colin Greenwood all have profiles, though there's not much on them yet.
Toronto's Holy Fuck are in the lead by more than 1,000 votes in the Radiohead remix challenge.
In the meantime, EMI has set a North American release date and finalized the track lists for the various versions of their Radiohead best-of compilation. If you're into hearing many of the band's hits in one place, you can pick up a single-disc version of Radiohead: The Best Of that's heavy on their most well-known songs. The package will also come in a 30-track edition with a second CD (or four-piece vinyl set) of singles and fan favourites. If hard copies aren't your thing, you can also download the 30-track version. A DVD featuring all of Radiohead's videos is on the way, though no details have been released.
Radiohead play Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre on Aug. 15.
