Oasis Come Out Of The Dark And Into Canada

Oasis will grace a stage for the first time in more than two years in Seattle on Aug. 26. But never mind that, they've also announced a three-date western Canada tour with Ryan Adams & The Cardinals before they headline Toronto's third Virgin Festival on Sept. 7.
Oasis have been working on their seventh studio album, the follow-up to 2005's Don't Believe The Truth, with producer Dave Sardy (Badly Drawn Boy, Atari Teenage Riot) at Abbey Road Studios in London, England as well as Los Angeles' the Village Studios. The band's Definitely Maybe was recently voted the best album of the last 50 years by the U.K.'s Q magazine, while (What's The Story) Morning Glory? came in second, and two other albums made the top 25.
Ryan Adams & The Cardinals released Easy Tiger almost a year ago. He announced in November that 2008 would bring another album, titled The Cardinals III/IV, as well as a solo record. Adams' first band, Whiskeytown, re-released their 1997 album Strangers Almanac at the beginning of March.
A rare performance of Oasis members Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer performing Adams' arrangement of "Wonderwall" in 2006 can be heard on Oasis' MySpace page.
Tickets for the double-bill go on sale through Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. on Friday.
If Adams and the Gallagher brothers don't get into a punch-up, you can see Oasis here:
