In Flames Reveal A Sense Of Purpose As Part Of Gigantour

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers In Flames will release their ninth studio album, A Sense Of Purpose, on April 1 via KOCH Records.
A Sense Of Purpose, which contains 12 new tracks, was produced by band members Anders Friden Bjorn Gelotte and Jesper Stromblad and was mixed by Toby Wright (Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne). The album is currently streaming on the band's MySpace page.
In Flames formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1990 as a side project for Stromblad, who was in a band called Ceremonial Oath. The guitarist eventually quit that group to focus on In Flames, who dropped their Lunar Strain debut in 1994. Reroute To Remain (2002) led to tours with Slayer, Soulfly and Mudvayne. The band launched their first world tour in support of Soundtrack To Your Escape two years later. Their last album, 2006's Come Clarity, is their most successful to date and has sold 400,000 copies worldwide.
In Flames will hit the U.S. and Canada as part of the North American leg of this year's Gigantour. The jaunt is organized and headlined by Megadeth, whose frontman Dave Mustaine picked all the supporting acts. Finnish metallers Children Of Bodom, Arizona death metal band Job For A Cowboy and doom metal act High On Fire will also be along for the ride, which has several Canadian stops. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, Megadeth's website and the Gigantour site. VIP packages that include access to meet-and-greets, tour laminates and other goodies are available if you're willing to pay upwards of $280.
