The Raconteurs Will Console You Soon

Jack White's other band, The Raconteurs, have confirmed rumours and announced that they will release their second album, Consolers Of The Lonely, on March 25.

The 14 tracks, released by Third Man Records, will be available on vinyl, CD and via digital downloads. The band hope fans will obtain the album as a whole instead of in parts, but individual tracks can be purchased through online retailers. The full album will be available on their website.

"We hope not to confuse anyone with too many options, or deny them the formats that they like best," says a message on the site. "The Raconteurs feel very strongly that music has worth and should be treated as such."

White, Jack Lawrence, Brendan Benson and Patrick Keeler have carefully planned out this sneak-attack release to avoid leaks and experiment with marketing and promoting an album after it comes out.

The Raconteurs site notes that the video for first single "Salute Your Solution" will also be put on the internet on March 25 — "provided it gets edited in time. We just filmed it the other day!"

The Raconteurs will open a North American tour with their only Canadian date at Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom on April 20.
