Feist Pulls Out The Puppets For New Video

Remember that Supergrass video for "Pumping On Your Stereo" where the band are puppets with freakishly long limbs? How about Weezer's "Keep Fishin'" which featured Jim Henson's friends? Well, Feist is set to join their ranks with a new puppetry-filled music video of her own.

Fresh off a year filled with touring, Grammy and Juno nominations, iPod ads, newfound stardom and most importantly, a declaration as Chart's 2007 artist of the year, Feist has popped up at home, where she's hard at work on the video with Calgary's The Old Trout Puppet Workshop. It's directed by Anthony Seck.

The Old Trout Puppet Workshop have produced puppetry for films like Honey I Shrunk The Kids. They've also brought their puppetry to touring productions of Roald Dahl's Red Riding Hood, Jack And The Beanstalk and others.

This isn't Feist's first foray into the puppet world. She once toured with former roommate Peaches as Bitch Lap Lap, a sock puppet-wearing, leotard-sporting rapper. We wonder if Bitch Lap Lap and her finger pals will make an appearance in this new clip…

In other musical puppet news, check out the clip for Toronto rapper D-sisive's Tom Waits hijacked "Ambulance" below, which features appearances from a Johnny Depp finger puppet and a fuzzy green creature who resembles Oscar The Grouch. The clip follows The Idiot: Hijacked, D-Sisive's recent online exclusive release which features clips from Martin Scorcese's The King Of Comedy and The Idiot, Iggy Pop's 1977 solo debut.
