Calgary's Set To Roll Out The Stars On Juno Awards Weekend

Are you excited about the Juno Awards' auxiliary events in Calgary yet? You might be after reading this.
MuchMusic VJs Leah Miller and Matte Babel will host the annual Juno Fan Fare at The Olympic Oval from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 5, where nominees Bedouin Soundclash, Faber Drive, Finger Eleven, Hedley, IllScarlett, Jully Black, Serena Ryder and State Of Shock will all be signing autographs. More participants in the free event will be announced in the coming weeks.
Songwriter of the year nominee Joel Plaskett will host a songwriters' circle that also includes Alex Cuba, Jeremy Fisher, Serena Ryder and Tegan And Sara at the Jack Singer Concert Hall at noon on April 6. Tickets cost $34.75 and $39.75 (plus applicable service charges) and go on sale on Saturday at 10 a.m. MST. If you can't show up in person, Jian Ghomeshi will host a live broadcast of the proceedings on CBC Radio One and the CBC website.
JunoFest will feature performances by almost 70 artists at 17 Calgary venues from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the nights of April 4 and 5. Wristbands that offer priority entry (subject to capacity) will set you back $30 when they go on sale on Saturday at 10 a.m. MST. Single tickets can be purchased at the door of participating venues for $10. A schedule hasn't yet been posted, and more artists are expected to be added to the lineup, so keep checking the JunoFest website for updates. And don't forget to let the Canadian Academy Of Recording Arts And Sciences know how badly you want to see Nardwuar The Human Serviette host next year's Junos in Vancouver.
