Take Another Trip To Whiskeytown

Missing Ryan Adams yet? The prolific artist's last album, Easy Tiger, was released in June. But if you're searching for something new, you're going to get something old.
Mood Food/Outpost/Geffen will reissue 1997's Strangers Almanac from Adams' previous band, Whiskeytown, in a deluxe edition with bonus tracks on March 4.
The Raleigh, North Carolina alt.country group released three albums: 1996's Faithless Street; Strangers Almanac; and Pneumonia, which came out in 2001 after the band's break-up.
The first disc of Strangers Almanac: Deluxe Edition features the original album and five previously unreleased radio performances. Nineteen of the 21 tracks on the second CD are also previously unreleased and include a number of acoustic versions of Strangers Almanac songs. There are also covers of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," Gram Parsons' "Luxury Liner," Johnny Cash's "I Still Miss Someone" and The True Believers' "The Rain Won't Help You When It's Over."
Since the end of Whiskeytown, Adams has gone on to an up-and-down solo career. Caitlin Cary (vocals, violin, percussion) married Whiskeytown drummer Eric "Skillet" Gilmore and has issued five albums either on her own or with her band, Tres Chicas. Phil Wandscher (vocals, guitar) joined Jesse Sykes And The Sweet Hereafter. There's been lots of talk about Whiskeytown reunions over the years, but they haven't happened and there have been no announcements about the band reconvening to support the new reissue.
