Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters And Take That Each Win Two Brit Awards

Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters and Take That each won two Brit Awards at London's Earl's Court arena on Wednesday night, where all four Canadian nominees were shut out.
Arctic Monkeys were named best British group for the second straight year, and Favourite Worst Nightmare gave them their second top British album award. This was the first time that the band attended, however, and they drunkenly accepted their honours while holding beers and wearing archaic tweed outfits and caps.
Foo Fighters took the prize for best international group and album for Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace. Former boy band Take That — who split up in 1996 and reformed three years ago without Robbie Williams, and whose members are now well into their thirties — were named best live act. "Shine" was chosen as the top British single.
Arcade Fire were nominated for best international group and album for Neon Bible. Feist was up for best international female, while Michael Buble and Rufus Wainwright were up for the identical prize for men.
Paul McCartney, who spent last week in court trying to reach a divorce settlement with estranged wife Heather Mills, received a lifetime achievement award and closed the show with a medley that included "Hey Jude" and "Live And Let Die."
Amy Winehouse, who won five Grammy Awards earlier this month after earning a Brit last year, sang "Valerie" and "Love Is A Losing Game" as she continues her addiction recovery. Kaiser Chiefs, Kylie Minogue, Rihanna and Klaxons also performed on the show, which was hosted by Ozzy Osbourne.
Here are the other Brit Award winners:
Best British Male: Mark RonsonBest British Female: Kate Nash
Best British Breakthrough: Mika
Best International Male: Kanye West
