Cancer Bats Hail Destroyer

We're not sure if Toronto punk band Cancer Bats are big Dan Bejar fans, but they've paid indirect tribute by naming their sophomore record Hail Destroyer.

The album — co-produced by Eric Ratz (Big Sugar, Theory Of A Deadman), Kenny Luong (Billy Talent) and Greg Below (Alexisonfire) and recorded at Toronto's Vespa Studios — will be released by Distort on April 22.

Billy Talent's Ben Kowalewicz, Alexisonfire's Wade MacNeil and Rise Against's Tim McIlrath contributed to the Cancer Bats' follow-up to 2006's Birthing The Giant debut.

Cancer Bats, the 2007 winners of an Indie Award for best metal/hardcore group and a MuchMusic Video Award for top independent video, can be found at these venues:
