It's been a while since we've shone the spotlight on Jared Leto, but it's high time to give the 30 Seconds To Mars frontman another 30 seconds of our attention. As usual, it's not for his singing or acting abilities.
No, with Leto, it's more often than not about the douchebaggery. The most recent example came at a London, England show where Leto reportedly hit a fan in the face with his microphone while performing "Buddha For Mary." A clip of the incident was posted on YouTube, but has now been removed.
This isn't the first time that the 36 year old has had problems with an audience, and we're sure it won't be the last. Leto broke his nose and suffered a foot injury and superficial wounds to his face and body during the El Paso, Texas stop on last year's Taste Of Chaos tour when his handlers claimed that the excited crowd overpowered security and rushed toward the performer. Later eyewitness reports said that he suffered the injuries when he dove off the stage into the audience and no one caught him. We prefer to believe that version.
Actor Elijah Wood claimed that Leto attacked him at the MTVU Woodie Awards in October 2006, and the outspoken vegetarian allegedly suckerpunched an audience member during a performance at last year's PinkPop Festival in the Netherlands.
Leto plays the title character in the film Mr. Nobody, which is slated for release later this year. It sounds like an appropriate role.
