Woodhands Have A Sheer Heart Attack

Woodhands

In a relationship so shocking it caused a Heart Attack, Toronto's Paper Bag Records has signed hometown electro-pop duo Woodhands and will release their debut album on April 1.

Dan Werb (vocals, synthesizers, drum machines) and Paul Banwatt (drums, vocals) create danceable electronic-influenced music without laptops or pre-recorded samples, which makes them a more dynamic live act than many in the field. Heart Attack pumps out 10 songs recorded over the summer at Toronto's Boombox Studios with Roger Leavens (DD/MM/YYYY, The Rural Alberta Advantage).

"I Wasn't Made For Fighting" and "Dancer" can be previewed on Woodhands' MySpace page. The album's last track, "Sailboats," features another recent Paper Bag addition, Laura Barrett.

Woodhands will venture to Austin, Texas for the South By Southwest Music Festival next month. They contributed "Anorak Christmas" to Paper Bag's Sally Shapiro compilation, Remix Romance, which hits stores on April 15.
