A Textbook Tragedy Distort And Intimidate

A Textbook Tragedy's mix of aggressive and technical metal with hardcore energy might be intimidating to the meek, but those aren't the kind of people the Vancouver band want buying their records or coming to their shows anyway.
There will be a new record, Intimidator, coming out on March 4 through their new label, Distort Inc. There will be lots of shows, too, as the group will travel from coast to coast from Feb. 25 to April 7.
A Textbook Tragedy independently released their A Partial Dialogue Between Ghost And Priest debut in 2005, and extensive touring and favourable reviews helped them sell 2,000 copies. To take the next step, however, the original quartet of singer/guitarist Kai Turmann, drummer Nick "Pede" Yacyshyn, bassist Bill Crook and guitarist Adam Christianson thought they needed some fresh blood and added Chris Bahris as a second vocalist last spring. That lineup recorded Intimidator with Winnipeg producer John Paul Peters (Comeback Kid).
The album's title track and "WWJOCD" can be previewed on the band's MySpace page.
