Amy Winehouse Denied Visa To Enter U.S., But Will Still Be Part Of Grammys

The guessing game is over. Amy Winehouse won't perform as part of the Grammy Awards at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Sunday evening, but she'll appear via satellite from a studio in London, England.
The six-time nominee was denied a visa to travel to the U.S. by the American embassy in the U.K. No reason has been disclosed, but it's likely because of her arrest for pot possession in Norway in October. The troubled singer finally went to rehab last month after a videotape of her allegedly smoking crack during a party at her house made it on to the internet.
"Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery," said a statement from Winehouse's management company, The Outside Organization.
Kanye West, who leads the way with eight Grammy nominations, will perform on the show along with John Mayer, BeBe Winans, Beyonce with Tina Turner, Kid Rock, Eldar, Dave Koz, Keely Smith, Fergie with John Legend, Rihanna, Josh Groban with Andrea Bocelli, Feist, Foo Fighters with John Paul Jones, Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Aretha Franklin and Mary J. Blige. Dierks Bentley, Cuba Gooding Jr., Carole King, Roselyn Sanchez, Usher, Will.i.am, Akon, Tony Bennett, Cher, Nelly Furtado, Quincy Jones, Prince, Ringo Starr, Dave Stewart, Taylor Swift, Stevie Wonder, Tom Hanks, Joe Mantegna and Jason Bateman will present awards.
The 50th annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS starting at 8 p.m.
