Ghetto Crosses Is Now More Than A Black Lips Song

Deerhunter's Bradford Cox and Black Lips' Cole Alexander recently teamed up to create a new band called Ghetto Crosses, and they've already recorded a single.
"The name is old," Cox recently posted on his blog. "We first talked about having a band called that when we first met and started hanging out.
"Then he used it for a Black Lips song title. Now we take it back to the streets. He came over saturday night and we knocked out a song for a 7" we are going to do for Chunklet Magazine guy Henry Owing's new label."
You can hear the result of their Saturday night adventures, "Dog Years," by downloading it from here.
It's surprising that the two Atlanta-based artists found the time to collaborate, considering their busy schedules. The Black Lips are touring across the U.S. all this month and for the first three weeks of March. Deerhunter are on hiatus, but Bradford's Atlas Sound project will hit the road for a month on Feb. 16 and play these Canadian shows:
Feb. 27 Montreal @ Casa Del PopoloFeb. 28 Toronto @ Horseshoe Tavern
March 5 Vancouver @ Pat's Pub
