Feist's The Reminder Wins The Shortlist Music Prize

The accolades and honours keep rolling in for Feist, and the latest is winning the seventh annual Shortlist Music Prize for The Reminder.
The first Canadian winner of the Los Angeles-originated award was among 10 finalists, including fellow Canucks Arcade Fire and Stars. But the judges — Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, The Killers' Ronnie Vannucci, CMJ's Rev. Moose, KCRW DJ Chris Douridas and the hosts of Hunnypot Internet Radio — deemed The Reminder to be the best of the lot.
Lightbody called The Reminder "the album of the year for 2007 or any year I can think of: it’s modern and classic all at once. There are so many kinds of beauty in this record."
To be eligible for the Shortlist honour, an album had to be released in the U.S. from January through November of last year and couldn't have been certified gold for domestic sales of 500,000 units.
Feist was nominated for five Juno Awards on Tuesday, four Indie Awards last week and four Grammy Awards in December. She'll perform on CBS' Grammy telecast on Sunday evening and on CTV's Juno presentation on April 6.
The Toronto-based singer/songwriter/musician, and Chart's artist of the year, will launch a North American tour on April 10 in Detroit that will end with the only Canadian date: May 13 at Toronto's Sony Centre For The Performing Arts.
