Bright Eyes Adopts The Felice Brothers

The Felice Brothers

Team Love Records, the label co-founded by Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst in 2003, has adopted a new set of brothers. The Felice Brothers, to be exact, who will release their self-titled third album through the label on March 4.

Simone, Ian and James Felice are the three eldest of seven children in a family from New York's Catskill Mountains region. The trio recently became a quartet with a newly "adopted" brother named Christmas.

Previous record Tonight At The Arizona was only released in the U.K., while The Adventures Of The Felice Brothers Vol. 1 was only sold on tour. At the end of January, they put out a seven-inch titled Roll On Arte through their first label, Loose Records. A 180-gram double vinyl version of The Felice Brothers, with a free download card, will be released in April.

"Greatest Show On Earth," "Frankie's Gun!," "Love Me Tenderly" and "Wonderful Life" can be previewed on The Felice Brothers' MySpace page.

The group opened several Bright Eyes shows last year, and they've also played with The Band's Levon Helm and at European festivals and gigs with The Waterboys, Blanche and David Grey. When they're not playing their gritty roots-based music on stage, they can often be found busking on the streets and subway platforms of New York City and living in a 1987 special education bus.

The Felice Brothers have U.S. dates, including a number of opening slots for the Drive-By Truckers, scheduled through mid-April.
