Teenage Head haven't released new material in 12 years and, as of April, they still won't. But the Canadian punk veterans will have a new album, which they recorded with Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Marky Ramone five years ago.
The former Ramones drummer joined singer Frankie Venom, guitarist Gord Lewis and bassist Steve Marshall at Metal Works in Mississauga, Ont. and Hamilton's Catherine North studio to revisit 12 songs from the Hamilton group's catalogue with frequent Ramones producer Daniel Rey, whose resume also includes production work for White Zombie, Doughboys, King Missile, Richard Hell, The Misfits and Nashville Pussy. Sonic Unyon will release Teenage Head With Marky Ramone on April 8.
The new version of "Top Down" can be previewed on Teenage Head's MySpace page.
Jack Pedler remains the band's main drummer, and the group will embark on a national tour following the release of the album. Until then, you can see Teenage Head here:
