Britney Spears Back In Hospital For Another Mental Evaluation

Mirroring events from early this month, Britney Spears was rushed from her house to a hospital by ambulance early Thursday morning because of concerns over her mental state.

The singer was physically removed from her Beverly Hills, California home by police and put in an ambulance around 1 a.m. She was driven to the UCLA Medical Center amidst a convoy of more than a dozen police officers on motorcycles, two cop cruisers and two police helicopters who prevented numerous photographers who've been regularly staking out the residence from following.

Spears is apparently being held for another mental health evaluation, and was considered a threat to herself or those around her. The Los Angeles Times reported that the raid was prompted by a phone call from Spears' psychiatrist, and that the operation had been carefully planned. The Federal Aviation Administration reportedly even had to be contacted to clear airspace for the helicopters between Spears' house and the hospital.

Celebrity gossip website TMZ.com quoted hospital sources as saying that Spears told doctors that she was on Adderall, a stimulant used to treat attention deficit disorder, and was taking up to 10 laxatives a day. It was also reported that Spears accused her mother of "sleeping with my boyfriend" and that she was swearing at her parents and medical centre staff members when she was admitted.

The 26 year old lost custody of young sons Sean Preston and Jayden James after her first hospitalization. A hearing was set up last week for Spears and her lawyers to try and get a judge to allow her to see the boys, but she left shortly after arriving at the courthouse.
