Feist Will Perform On Grammy And Juno Award Shows

You're going to see a lot of Feist on television in the next couple of months, and not just in those ubiquitous iPod commercials.
The Toronto-based singer/songwriter/musician, and Chart's artist of the year, has been invited to perform at the 50th annual Grammy Awards, which will take place at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Feb. 10 and be broadcast live on CBS starting at 8 p.m.
Feist is nominated for four Grammys and, now that the striking Writers' Guild Of America has struck a deal with the show producers to allow it to go on, she'll perform along with Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Beyonce, Foo Fighters, Carrie Underwood, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, The Clark Sisters, Israel & New Breed, Trin-I-Tee 5:7, Rihanna and The Time. Amy Winehouse has also been invited to sing, but her legal problems and last week's overdue entry into a rehab centre make her participation a major question mark.
Feist, of course, attained notoriety in Canada before breaking through south of the border. So it's no surprise that she'll also perform on CTV's Juno Awards broadcast originating from Calgary's Pengrowth Saddledome on April 6. Feist received two Juno nominations for 2004's Let It Die, and she'll no doubt get more when this year's nominees are announced on Tuesday.
Finger Eleven and Michael Buble have also been confirmed to appear on the show, and more performers will be revealed next week.
