Waco Brothers Are Live And Kickin' On New Album

Waco Brothers

If you've never had the drunken pleasure of seeing Chicago's Waco Brothers in concert, you can at least get a feel for the experience with Bloodshot's March 4 release of Waco Express: Live And Kickin' At Schubas Tavern.

The veteran roots rock/punk outfit — comprised of singer/guitarist Jon Langford (The Mekons), singer/guitarist Dean "Deano" Schlabowske (Dollar Store), singer/mandolin player Tracy "The World's Greatest Living Englishman" Dear, bassist Alan Doughty (Jesus Jones), drummer Steve Goulding (Mekons, Graham Parker & The Rumour) and steel player Marc Durante (KMFDM) — have often been called the best bar around due to their enthusiasm, humour, working man lyrics and fine choice of covers. While the Wacos' seven studio albums are definitely worth having, they still can't approach the sheer fun the band bring to the stage.

"Cowboy In Flames" and "Do What I Say" can be previewed on the Bloodshot website. Pour some beer on yourself, knock back something from a Wacos flask and do some scissor kicks to get more in the mindframe of the concert experience while listening.

The Wacos will make their annual appearances at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas in March.
