R.E.M. Reveal Accelerate Track List And Tour Dates

Even though R.E.M.'s Accelerate will be released on April Fool's Day, the veteran Athens, Georgia band's promise of returning to their more rocking roots doesn't appear to be a prank.
The Warner Bros. album's 11 songs will accelerate through your CD player in just 34 minutes, with some of that time allotted to lead single "Supernatural Superserious." A video for the song was shot in a New York City Italian restaurant called Inoteca and the Babeland sex toy shop on Jan. 21.
A number of songs from Accelerate, which was produced by Jacknife Lee (U2, Snow Patrol) were premiered at shows in Dublin, Ireland last summer. The band have set up a website that counts down to the album's release date and features a new video snippet every day.

The band will tour in May and June with openers Modest Mouse and The National. The trek begins at Vancouver's Deer Lake Park on May 23 and also includes a June 8 stop at Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre.
