Lil Wayne Gets Busted For Drugs Again

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne and two members of his entourage were arrested for drug possession after the rapper's tour bus was pulled over by border patrol officers on an Arizona highway around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officials searched the bus with drug-sniffing dogs and say they discovered $22,000 U.S. in cash, three guns, 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy and drug paraphernalia. The Drug Enforcement Agency was called in to investigate, and they arrested the three men. Lil Wayne (real name Dwayne Michael Carter) was charged with possession of cocaine, ecstasy and drug paraphernalia, while the two others were booked for the pot.

A .40-calibre pistol was found to be registered to Wayne in Florida, but he could face gun charges if he violated Arizona weapons laws. The two other firearms were legally registered to other passengers on the bus.

Wayne posted $10,000 U.S. bail and was released from Yuma County Jail at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

This is a scenario that Wayne has become familiar with over the past few years. He was arrested on gun possession charges in New York in July and he missed a concert in Boise, Idaho in the fall when he was arrested and jailed on a felony fugitive charge that his lawyer blamed on a paperwork mix-up.

Wayne got in trouble after three women were injured at an October 2006 concert at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland when people rushed to grab money that was being thrown from the stage. Two months earlier, he was arrested in Atlanta for having less than an ounce of marijuana and possessing a controlled substance.
