Coachella Festival Lineup Revealed

There will be no My Bloody Valentine as many had hoped, but other bands who haven't played full sets in the U.S. for years — Portishead, The Verve, Love And Rockets and The Breeders — will feature prominently at this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California.
Approximately 125 acts will grace various stages at Empire Field from April 25 to 27. The Friday headliner will be Jack Johnson, so you might want to get an early start to beat the crowd back to your hotel or campsite. Portishead will try to convince people that trip-hop is still relevant when they cap off Saturday night. Kids may have to ask some older attendees who the British dude on the stage is when Roger Waters ends the festival by performing Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety.
There will be an impressive Canadian contingent at the festival, including Tegan And Sara, Stars, Islands, Metric, Holy Fuck, Black Mountain and A-Trak.
Tickets for the three-day festival go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday via Ticketmaster and will cost $269 U.S. Single-day passes will go for $90. Camping passes are available for an extra $55 for a four-night stay. Additional service fees apply in all cases. More information can be found on the Coachella website.
The Coachella promoters also confirmed that they'll stage the similar All Points West Music & Arts Festival at New Jersey's Liberty State Park from Aug. 8 to 10. Lineup information for that event is still forthcoming.
