Amy Winehouse May Record Christmas/Hannukah Album With Mark Ronson

Amy Winehouse

You never know what to expect from Amy Winehouse, but there's a small chance that she could release two albums this year. Of course, there's also a possibility that her bulimia or addictions may kill her before she records again. We'll just have to wait and see.

But Winehouse's producer, Mark Ronson, told Rolling Stone that Winehouse is writing songs and has talked about going into the studio to record the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Back To Black. But there's another potential album that sounds like it could be just as interesting, according to Ronson.

"We're talking about making a holiday record, with Christmas songs on one side and Hanukkah songs on the other. She's got songs called, like, 'Kosher Kisses' and 'Alone Under The Mistletoe.' She was kind of fucking around, but I was like, 'You have all these amazing records to play for Christmas, like Motown and Carla Thomas and the Charlie Brown Christmas, and unfortunately, us Jews have nothing that cool to listen to. So we should do something."

Winehouse, who's now sporting a short blonde hair-do instead of her familiar beehive, is nominated for six Grammy Awards and has been invited to perform on the show, if the Writers Guild Of America strike doesn't throw a wrench into those plans like it did for Sunday's Golden Globe Awards. The Grammys are slated to take place on Feb. 10 at Los Angeles' Staples Center and be broadcast live on CBS starting at 8 p.m.

But even if the labour problems have been resolved by then, Winehouse's appearance on the show is still in question because of potential difficulties in acquiring a U.S. visa as a result of her October arrest in Norway for marijuana possession.
