The Saint Alvia Cartel have nabbed their first headlining tour through Ontario and Quebec, and they'll be supported by The Reason when things kick off on Jan. 30.
The Burlington, Ont. band released their self-titled full-length debut last May on Stomp Records. The singles/videos "Don't Wanna Wait Forever" and "Time To Go" received significant radio and television exposure, and the video for "Blonde Kryptonite" will be released in March.
Greg Umetsu Taylor, Ben Rispin, Greg Fisher, Rob Pasalic, Matt Richmond and Brandon Bliss formed the band in 2005 and merged their punk roots in Boys Night Out, Jersey and The Video Dead with reggae, new wave and rock. Since then, they've played with K-OS, Matthew Good and Billy Talent. They were part of last fall's The Union Tour with The Toasters, The Flatliners and The Peacocks, and crossed the country in support of Bedouin Soundclash. The group appeared at the Vans Warped Tour, Wakestock, the CASBY Awards and Pop Montreal.
Hamilton's The Reason's "We're So Beyond This" was named best video in ChartAttack's 2007 readers' poll. They released their third album, Things Couldn't Be Better, last March via Smallman.
