A Perfect Circle's Billy Howerdel Goes Solo As Ashes Divide

A Perfect Circle co-founder Billy Howerdel will release his first solo album under the name Ashes Divide via Island in March.
Howerdel produced and engineered the still-untitled album in Los Angeles. He sang lead vocals and played all guitar, bass and keyboard parts, while A Perfect Circle's Josh Freese handled drums. British producer Alan Moulder (Depeche Mode, The Killers) mixed the record in London, England.
"Enemies" can be heard on Ashes Divide's MySpace page.
New Jersey-born Howerdel worked as a guitar technician for David Bowie, Guns N' Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins and Tool before starting A Perfect Circle with Tool's Maynard Keenan in 1999. The band released three albums: 2000's Mer De Noms, 2003's Thirteenth Step and 2004's Emotive.
