Arcade Fire, Feist And Stars Nominated For Shortlist Music Prize

Canadian acts comprise about six per cent of the Shortlist Music Prize's long list of nominees, as Arcade Fire's Neon Bible, Feist's The Reminder and Stars' In Our Bedroom After The War are in the running against 51 other albums.
To be eligible for consideration, a record must have been released in the U.S. from January through November of last year and not been certified gold for domestic sales of 500,000 units.
One-third of the albums are from previous Shortlist nominees. Nine countries and 48 record labels are represented.
The nominees were chosen by Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, The Killers' Ronnie Vannucci, CMJ's Rev. Moose, KCRW DJ Chris Douridas and the hosts of Hunnypot Internet Radio. The 10 finalists and the winner will be announced at a still unspecified date.
The six previous Shortlist winners are Sigur Ros, N*E*R*D, Damien Rice, TV On The Radio, Sufjan Stevens and Cat Power.
