ChartAttack Readers Are Still Loving Silverstein

Silverstein

As of Dec. 21, Silverstein have tightened their grip on the top spot in voting for favourite Canadian album in the ChartAttack readers' poll.

The Burlington, Ont. band's Arrivals And Departures has captured 28 per cent of the votes, while Sum 41's Underclass Hero is far behind in second place with 13.2 per cent.

The race is much closer for top international album, but Linkin Park's Minutes To Midnight has extended its lead over Fall Out Boy's Infinity On High to 107 votes.

Readers saw that Alexisonfire's "Rough Hands" was the first title listed alphabetically in the poll for best song, and they've kept it there with 1,297 votes, 412 more than Simple Plan's "When I'm Gone" and 561 more than Feist's "1234."

Silverstein supporters show their solidarity again when it comes to deciding Canada's sexiest male artist, as singer Shane Told has 24.5 per cent of the votes. Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has captured the hearts of 8.6 per cent of you to put him in second place, with Simple Plan singer Pierre Bouvier not too far behind him.

Avril Lavigne has a lead of almost 1,600 votes over Tegan And Sara in the sexiest woman field, with Nelly Furtado posing comfortably in third place.

Tegan And Sara have a 600-vote lead over Lavigne in the best haircut race. Massari still has the fewest votes, either because he's bald or people just don't like him.

Croc shoes remain the stupidest trend of the year with 1,384 votes, far outdistancing MTV's The Hills show with 668.

The Reason's "We're So Beyond This" is still leading the race for favourite music video, but Sum 41's "Walking Disaster" has climbed into second ahead of The Used's "The Bird And The Worm."

Canadian rock remains the sweetest thing to happen in music in 2007, but it only has a 50-vote lead over Guitar Hero. That lead could evaporate if more of you get the video game for Christmas.

Britney Spears' return to releasing records is still considered the stinkiest thing in music this year. Being emo isn't thought too highly of either. But you keep digging independent record stores, so use your Christmas cash and buy some music from them.

The Chart office will be closed until Jan. 2, but the poll will be accessible and active through the holidays until it closes on Jan. 4, so vote now and vote often.

Everyone at ChartAttack wishes you the best of the season, and we'll be back with more entertaining news and reviews in 2008.
