Boston Band Members Hide Out Overnight To See Neil Young

ChartAttack interns apparently aren't the only people with enough guile to sneak into a Neil Young concert.
When the Canadian music legend played the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, Mass. on Dec. 2, he may have had a couple of fans in attendance that he hadn't counted on — and weren't accounted for.
Two members of the group Township performed at the 155-year-old theatre as part of the Boston Music Awards, where they were nominated for best new act and outstanding rock band, the evening before Young's gig. While they were there, they claim to have discovered a small hiding place underneath the backstage area. With ingenuity and balls, they apparently snuck sleeping bags, snacks and bottles of whiskey into the spot and camped out for the night so they could see one of their idols take the stage.
"Being sold-out and super-expensive, something drastic had to be done," band manager Kathleen Puzo told the Boston Herald. "Being resourceful guys, an out-of-the-way location was scouted during sound check and provisions were set up."
The pair awoke the next day to the sounds of Young in his dressing room above their heads, getting ready for his show and "just hanging out," Puzo said.
While the Township members are sticking to their story, a representative from concert promoter Live Nation told Pollstar.com that the company checked with the venue and was told that it was impossible for people to hide overnight in the Orpheum.
Whether the account is true or not, we admire its rock 'n' roll spirit and were curious enough to check out Township's MySpace page.
Keep on rockin' in the free world.
