Alternative rock godfather Bob Mould has signed with Anti- for the release of his new solo LP, District Line, which will be released on Feb. 5.

District Line draws on influences from Mould's lengthy career, including his time with Husker Du and Sugar, as well as his solo career. Mould's guitar work is augmented by Fugazi's Brendan Canty, who drums on the record.

The last song on the album, "Walls In Time," is an outtake from Mould's first solo effort, 1989's Workbook.

"That was one of those songs waiting a long time for recording," explains Mould. "But it seemed like a really appropriate closer for this record when it popped back into my head."

Lyrically, the album reflects things that have happened to Mould in his adopted hometown of Washington, D.C. over the past five years.

"These are stories of my simple life in a complicated town," says Mould. "These are funny stories about me and my friends, things I see or overhear."

To set the stage for District Line, Mould will release a digital single featuring "The Silence Between Us" and a live version of Sugar's "If I Can't Change Your Mind" via iTunes and Amazon on Jan. 8.

Mould released a DVD called Circle Of Friends, which was shot live at Washington's 9:30 Club, on Oct. 9.

Mould will tour in support of District Line, with the only Canadian date scheduled so far set for Vancouver's Richard's On Richards on March 30.

Here are the tracks on District Line:

"Stupid Now"
"Who Needs To Dream"
"Again And Again"
"Old Highs New Lows"
"Return To Dust"
"The Silence Between Us"
"Shelter Me"
"Very Temporary"
"Miniature Parade"
"Walls In Time"
