Charty Chart Chat: Sunset Rubdown Hold Top Spot Again

Things have settled into a bit of a groove after some weeks of relative chaos on the charts as the top four albums on the top 50 chart remain in the same spot from last week.
Sunset Rubdown's Random Spirit Lover sits at #1, Stars's In Our Bedroom After The War remains at #2, The Sadies' New Seasons holds at #3 and The Weakerthans' Reunion Tour has the #4 spot wrapped up. The CBC Radio 3 Sessions Volume 3 compilation rises a spot to #5 followed by The Most Serene Republic's Population rising up a place to #6. Jumping 23 places to #7 is Holy Fuck LP with former #1 album, Caribou's Andorra returning to the top sector of the charts, rising 10 places to #8. Bella's No One Will Know jumps seven spots to #9, beating its previous highest spot on the charts, having occupied #10 two weeks ago.
The Chart Sizzler Award goes to the #10 album on the charts this week. Buck 65's Situation debuts highest debut on the strength of radio support from nine campus radio stations, eight of which placed Buck 65 in their top ten including #2 @ CJSR (Alberta) and CISM (Montreal Polytechnique); #3 @ CFRU (Guelph); #5 @ CJAM (Windsor) and CFRE (Erindale-UTM); #8 @ CHSR (UNB) and CHYZ (Laval) and #10 at CHOQ (Quebec at Montreal).
The next highest debut this week is The Barmitzvah Brothers' Let's Express Our Motives which hits the charts at #21 with Black Dice's Load Blown at #29 and The Two-Minute Miracles' Volume IV: The Lions Of Love at #32.
There were few more re-entering albums this week than usual. Eight albums returned after at a charting absence. Plants And Animals' With/Avec EP returns at #26, M.I.A.'s Kala comes back at #35 and The Doers' Gaiety reappears at #41. This is Gaiety's 12th week on the top 50 chart, a number matching both the aforementioned Stars and Caribou albums.
The specialty charts have two #1s from last week and three new #1s amongst the five genres. Remaining at #1 on the Metal/Punk charts is High On Fire's Death Is The Communion for a fifth straight week and Mr. Something Something's Deep Sleep sits at #1 on the World/Folk chart for a second week. Rising six spots to grab top spot on the Hip Hop top ten is Def 3 & Moka Only's Dog River. Flying Lotus' Reset EP rises two spots to land at #1 on the Electronic chart and Dee Daniels's Jazzinit rises four places to take over #1 on the Jazz/Blues top ten.
